# How Spud works in MS Teams

Spud lives inside Microsoft Teams. You do not need a separate app, a new tab, or a different login. Just type @Spud wherever you already work and it responds there.

TAGGING SPUD

How to get Spud's attention

How do I tag the Spud Agent?

Type @Spud in your message, followed by whatever you need. That is it. Spud works out the rest.

---

Can I use Spud in group chats?

Yes. Type @Spud in any group chat and it will respond there. Everyone in the chat can see the conversation.

---

Can I use Spud in channels?

Yes. Tag @Spud in a channel message and it responds in the thread. Useful for team tasks where you want the output visible to everyone.

---

Can I DM Spud directly?

Yes. Open a direct message with Spud and type your request. This is the best option when you want a private conversation or are working through something iteratively.

---

Do I need to add Spud to each channel or group chat I want to use it in?

No. Once Spud is installed in your Teams workspace, it is available everywhere — DMs, group chats, and channels. No extra setup needed per conversation.

---

USING SPUD WITH OTHERS

Teams and shared workspaces

Can multiple people use Spud at the same time?

Absolutely. Spud handles multiple conversations simultaneously. One person using it does not slow it down for anyone else.

---

Can Spud see the conversation context?

Yes. Spud reads the thread it is in, so it can follow a conversation as it develops. The more context you give it, the better the output. If you are picking up from an earlier discussion, a brief summary in your message helps Spud get it right first time.

TROUBLESHOOTING

When things do not go as expected

Why is Spud not responding?

The most likely cause is a connection issue. Log in at yourai.liganova-mash.com/auth/sign-in and check your connections under Configure. If everything looks connected and Spud is still not responding, contact your Champions lead.

---

Why is Spud taking a long time to respond?

Some tasks take longer than others. When Spud is pulling live data from Float, Box, or the web, it has to go and retrieve that information before it can respond. Complex or multi-step tasks take more time than simple ones. If a response takes more than a minute or two, try resending your request.

---

ONE RULE

The more context you give @Spud, the better the result. A specific request gets a specific, useful answer. A vague one gets a generic one.
