# How to Add Knowledge to Your AI Agents

In this guide, we will walk you through the process of updating your knowledge base for your AI agents on the platform. 

## When should I use this?

This feature allows you to enhance your AI agents' capabilities by providing them with the necessary information to perform tasks effectively.

## Step-by-step instructions

The knowledge base can be updated by either uploading documents or adding website URLs. Here’s how you can do it:

- Navigate to the Configure page on the platform.
- From the left-hand menu, select Knowledge Base.
### Uploading Documents

- Choose the Upload option if you wish to upload a document.
- You can upload files via Google Drive, Dropbox, or directly from your computer:
- Select the files you want to add to the knowledge base and wait for the upload to complete.
- Once uploaded, select the AI agents to which you want to assign this knowledge.
Note: If you update any files on Google Drive or Dropbox, you will need to re-upload them for changes to take effect.

Maximum file size: 512 megabytes (MB)

### Adding Website URLs

- Select Add URL if you prefer to add a website.
- You can add a single webpage or multiple pages (up to 10 at a time).
- Enter the URL, select the agent you wish to assign it to, and click Next.
- If adding multiple webpages, the platform will automatically scrape your website after selecting Next.
- Choose the pages you want to include in the knowledge base.
- After selecting all desired pages, click Next.
- Your documents and webpages have now been added to your knowledge base.
### Viewing Knowledge Base Details

- You can view a list of all documents and website entries, including which agents have access to them, when they were added, and who added them.
### Adding Instant Knowledge

- Insights can also be added directly within the chat interface.
- Use the paperclip icon to attach files, such as key dates or reference material, to create content quickly.
- Note that this instant knowledge is available for immediate use but is not stored in the full knowledge base.

## Common issues

|  | File format not supported | Unable to upload document | Ensure the document is in a supported format (e.g., PDF) |
|  | Incorrect URL format or site restrictions | URL not adding to knowledge base | Verify the URL and ensure it is accessible |
|  | File not attached correctly in chat | Instant knowledge not available | Reattach the file using the paperclip icon |

By following these steps, you can effectively add knowledge to your AI agents, enabling them to perform tasks with greater accuracy and efficiency. This process is essential for tailoring your AI to meet your business needs and enhance its operational capabilities.
